I'm look for elementary level math software that will track my students' progress.?
I'm an elementary school teacher. I'm looking for a math CD-ROM or online math portal that will allow my students to: (1) Practice their basic math skills, (2) Allow me to track their progress and (3) Provide additional practice before they can go on to the next level of difficulty.
- Another program is ClassWorks. It has activities for math and reading, and I just found out that there's also a part of it that teaches kids to type.
You can set it up different ways. The kids can take an assessment and the program will set up activities for the kids to do based on their weaknesses.
You can also set it up so they can do all activities, no matter what, or so they can only do certain activities.
Another program that can be found online is FCAT Explorer. It was originally set up for use by Florida schools, but you may be able to use it anyway.
There's a reading and math section, and it will track student progress. There are also games and activities that the kids really seem to like.
You can find it at www.fcatexplorer.com.
- Classroom teachers looking for software that will help students prepare for ssessment tests may want to take a look at the "Mighty Math" CD's. They are grade level specific and align well with the State Frameworks. Teachers can enter the names of all classroom students and the CD will then track students' progress as they work through the various math "game like" activities.
